An ARB Air Locker can be engaged at any speed as long as both wheels are spinning at the same rate. If one wheel is spinning faster than the other, what is called “crash locking” will occur and can cause damage to the internal gears. As you approach the obstacle we recommend you engage the Air Locker as much as you would shift a manual transmission vehicle, back your foot off the gas as you shift or- lift and shift. To engage the Air Locker simply back off the gas, and hit the button. We recommend that the vehicle stops and engages the Air Locker before attempting an obstacle.
